On Thursday the 4th of June 2015, we hosted a meeting which brought together face recognition
researchers and practitioners.

A series of informative talks were provided by practitioners from police forces from London, Leicestershire and Scotland. Additional talks were given by applied face recognition researchers from York, Kent, Greenwich and Glasgow.

The audience consisted of academics with an interest in applied face research, and professionals from the Home Office, the Metropolitan Police, the office of the Biometrics Commissioner, CEOP, the Chartered Society for Forensic Sciences and the Independent Inspectorate of UK Borders and Immigration.

Dr. David Robertson said, "The York FaceVar lab has a really dynamic approach to the promotion of science in society, and this meeting provided the opportunity for researchers and practitioners to communicate and find common areas of interest".
